Mexican dishes

Hi all

Will be doing a very relaxed dinner party for 8 of us this Saturday and am going down the Mexican route - so Fajitas, guacamole, salsa, nachos and maybe some hot chicken wings and thought I'll do sangria to drink...(I know it's more Spanish than Mexican but thought the freshness and sweetness of it will help with the heat of the food...)

Was wandering whether anyone had any ideas of any other accompaniments to serve with it???

Thanks in advance

Can you make cucumber exciting?

Hi All,

I subscribe to a local veg box delivery and always look forward to getting home from work on a Thursday and seeing what has been left for me. Unfortunately, quite often recently I havebeen left with the equivalent of a lump of coal in my Christmas stocking.

To me, cucumbers have always embodied the very worst of boring British salads; tasting of nothing but stale water.

Anyone able to help me get over this resistance and to accept the cucumber into my stomach, if not my heart, would be granted a great deal of kudos.

Hi,

Just wondering, when you soak a fillet of ham (you know the pre-packed round fillet ham from supermarkets) do you remove the inside paper wrapping at this stage, or before you cook or after you cook ? I'm always confused by this, as when I remove it, the ham falls open and if I don't remove it, I worry that the ham will be too salty !

Urgent..Cooking without alcohol for people with drink problems!

I need to cook some Christmas fair ie mince pies, Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, etc. For friends that have a drink problem and can't eat anything that has had alcohol added.

I hope someone will offer some advice as this is becoming a regular (well anual) problem. I usually end up checking out the ingredients in shop brought Christmas teats.

Any ideas for non alcoholic coq au vin too?

I have invented a fun cooking game. Do you know any investers?

I recently invented a fun cooking board game with my children. As far as I can see there isn't anything like it on the market. It involves cooking while you are playing the game. The winner of the game cooks the recipe that was prepared during the game and the other players help him/her. My kids really enjoy playing it, and having something yummy to eat at the end of it. I could sell the idea to a game agent, but I would really like to do it as a project, as I would have more part to say in the design etc. Would any one in the My dish community be interested in something like this, or know of someone who could invest in making it into a board game?

please contact me on my pampered kitchens profile.
